Both Meredith Grey and Christina Yang are non-religious. They do not have any prominent views on a certain religion throughout the show, yet they do take pride in their career, medicine. As any other religion, like God for Christians and Buddha’s for Buddhism, using medicine and doing procedures is Grey and Yang’s religion (Skill). They believe that medicine can help many things and are only devoted to that. Their relationships, their social lives and their everyday lives are influenced by medicine and working at the hospital. Yang refused to let anyone or anything, even the man she was about to marry, influence her medical decisions and career. She eventually moves away in the show and runs a medical research hospital. Grey is married with children, but her medical career determines everything that she does. Thankfully, her husband was an extraordinary surgeon who also believed in medicine as much as she did. Their determination and love for medicine was their religion.
